Jordan & Katelyn's Wedding

Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, why? Give us the dirty details.

“We met on eHarmony. We messaged each other back and forth for a few days before going on our first date at the Pump Haus in Cedar Falls. We had four dates within five days, and then Katelyn had to go back to Dubuque to finish up student teaching at Loras. The best part is that Katelyn never had to pay a dime for eHarmony because it was "free weekend." End of December 2016 was when we first met. We started dating early January of 2017.”

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.

Katelyn - “I knew Jordan was the one because he could put up with my goofiness and my roommates. He also had a very big heart. (His good looks helped.) This was approximately 2 or 3 months in to the relationship.”

Jordan - “I knew Katelyn was the one because of how easy it was to make distance work in the first few months of our relationship. I knew it wasn't going to be easy with us both teaching and being apart so much during the week. We were able to have great phone conversations and Facetime video chats. Everything was just so effortless and we just clicked on so many different levels and could always be ourselves around each other.”

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Katelyn - “We started talking about marriage during the summer of 2017. We looked at rings in August, and I found one that I really liked. Jordan had asked my parents for my hand in marriage in October of 2017 while I was gone on a conference (but I knew he was doing it). He got little nervous when my mom responded, "Well....I don't know...............well, of course!". She made Jordan sweat it out a little bit. The planning for the engagement started right away. I had told Jordan that I wanted our family and friends to be there to celebrate our engagement with us. I kept prying him for information, but he wouldn't budge. He did an amazing job at planning it. We had gotten tickets to a University of Northern Iowa football game (Saturday, November 18th), and we invited my parents to go with us. We went to lunch and then the game. The only hint that I had that anything was going on was in the morning. I was going to paint my nails, but then I told Jordan that I didn't really want to do it. He then pushed me a little to do it, since I was planning on doing them. I didn't think anything of it at the time. At the game, I noticed my mom and Jordan were frequently checking their phones. On top of that, Jordan wanted to leave before the game was even over, which was out of the ordinary. We headed back to our apartment. My mom had brought dessert to celebrate Jordan's birthday a little late. We walked up to the apartment. When we got to the door, Jordan knocked on the door. I thought that was kind of weird. Then, the door opened. The apartment dim. There were icicle lights hanging everywhere and a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table, with flower petals in the shape of a heart and a box in the middle. In the background, our song (In Case you Didn't Know by Brett Young, which was the first song we danced to together) was playing. Jordan's parents were there filming, and my mom had pulled out her iPad to record the whole event. I was in shock as we stepped into the apartment. Jordan got down on one knee and said some really sweet things. I don't remember any of it because I was so happy. I, of course, said yes. After that, a whole bunch of our family and friends were waiting at the bar next to our apartment where we had our first date. They came up and celebrated with us. It was perfect...and I couldn't believe how well Jordan pulled it off!”

Jordan - “I have to say I was a little nervous asking Katelyn's parents if I could marry their daughter. I had supper with them at their house when Katelyn was at a conference, and before I left we were talking in the kitchen when I asked them if I could marry Katelyn. They let me sweat it out for a few seconds, but did that just to mess with me. They were both really happy for us. Planning the whole day out took some time. I wanted to make everything as great as I could, and had a lot of help from family and friends. When I got down on my knee there was so much running through my head and I was so happy to be proposing to the woman of my dreams.”

Jordan - “Katelyn likes to make something like a beaver face when she is feeling extra goofy at random times when we are together.”

Katelyn - “Jordan can quote just about any movie or T.V. show after watching it just once. Some of his favorites are: Step Brothers, Anchorman, Dumb and Dumber, and Tommy Boy. This drives me nuts because I can't remember any quotes.”

Jenna - “I was only looking for the ring because he looked so nervous and like he was up to something !! :) I was definitely excited, I tackled him to the floor on accident. :) ”

Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, why? Give us the dirty details.

“We first met when I was in town on a stop over from touring with Dallas Children’s Theatre. Eric and I connected on Tinder, and in trying to blow him off and avoid a “date” I invited him to come out dancing with my tour mates and me. We clicked immediately! We danced all night, and parted ways as the bar closed. He asked the next day if he could call me, and after that we talked every day until we saw each other again 2 months later when he came to visit me in Dallas.”

Eric & Bailey Wedding-060.jpg

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.

Bailey - “I first knew he was the one when I came to visit Minnesota again for the first time since we’d met. He had planned a 4th of July fireworks cruise for us. We were standing on the boat and chatting and I remember him saying, “you should just stay here”. One week later we were planning my move in August.”

Eric - “I knew she was the one when we were driving to the airport at the end of her visit to MN. We were holding hands as we approached her terminal and we started joking about turning around and her staying. There was definitely a moment when we both realized we weren’t joking. We never went through with it, but that’s when I knew.”

Eric & Bailey Wedding-048.jpg

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Bailey - “Eric makes me belly laugh, every single day! He’s seriously so silly!”

Eric - ”Her consideration for others. She’s the yin to my yang.”

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Bailey - “Eric does the most ridiculous dances around our apartment. I think if anyone ever saw them but me, he’d probably die of embarrassment, but they crack me up.”

Eric - “Bailey sings musical theater numbers at full blast while attempting to act out the scene with her hands as she drives. Once I start giggling the volume and intensity increases. “

Besides getting married - whats the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

“We’re so excited to be surrounded by all of the people we love on the best day of our lives! We kept our guest list small and intimate. Our nearest and dearest people will be by our side celebrating with us, and you can’t beat that. Also, can we say the food?”

Explain why you made the decision to work with Lora & Isaac?

“Lora & Isaac have gone above and beyond for us since we first inquired about having them photograph our wedding. They’re so warm, and friendly. They have made us feel like so much more than just “clients”. “

Jennifer - “Mike and I are high school sweethearts. We met after Mike's Freshman year and my Sophomore year through FFA. Our first date was a canoe trip with his whole family and watching the movie Hall Pass. Yes, I know, great start to our relationship. We did the whole high school dating in a small town thing and then went to ISU. We stayed together and our relationship continued to grow stronger.”

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.

Mike- " Well, after 6 years I haven't found a reason to get rid of you and you like cows."

Jenny- “He always makes me laugh!”

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Jennifer - “Mike had asked my parents prior to asking me. My mom was all excited, but my dad told him (jokingly) that he would make more money on EBAY as a way to try to calm Mike down. The next evening we were sitting watching tv on December 21st and he said you can have your Christmas present if you can find it. Mike doesn't like to wrap presents so he hides them. I didn't know what/where to start. He finally started to give me clues. In the end he had hid the ring on the tree and it only took 15 minutes to find it. We told immediate family right away but waited til Christmas to see how long it would take the rest of the family to notice.”

Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, why? Give us the dirty details.

We met at Abby's Cabin in Avon, MN over the 4th of July 2016. Abby's family always has a huge 4th of July celebration and through mutual friends Jeremy was invited. “

FaceBook-09-2.jpg

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.

“Jeremy knew the moment he saw Abby on July 2nd, 2016 that she was the one. Jeremy fell in love with Abby's spunky, fun loving personality that day.”

FaceBook-02-2.jpg

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

"Jeremy planned the perfect proposal for almost a year. Jeremy worked with a jeweler designing Abby a one of a kind ring. But, before purchasing the ring, Jeremy got Abby's dads permission (such a gentlemen). After Jeremy was given permission, it was full speed ahead. Jeremy planned a romantic weekend getaway in Minneapolis. The day before they left for their weekend getaway in Minneapolis, Jeremy got a call from the jeweler stating the ring was not done, oh no! So, the romantic weekend getaway was just that. No engagement happened. So, Jeremy went back to the drawing board to plan the perfect most unforgettable proposal. With the ring in his hand, he was ready to go. So, On June 23, 2018, Jeremy picked Abby up from her parents house for a "date day." Abby's parents knew what was happening, so they encouraged Abby to dress up for the "date day." Abby was stunningly beautiful when Jeremy picked her up. Abby was a chatty kathy the entire car ride with Jeremy not having much to say as he was nervous. Jeremy and Abby arrived at the Spoon and Cherry (Walker Art Center) for their date day and Abby was SO excited! She had been wanting to see the Spoon and Cheery with Jeremy since they started dating, but Jeremy never wanted to go. Abby was smiling ear to ear and could not walk fast enough to the Spoon and Cheery. Jeremy was following close behind feeling a tad light headed and sweaty knowing he was about the ask the most beautiful women in the world to be his wife. Abby gave her phone to a stranger to take a photo of them in front of the Spoon and Cherry. Jeremy kept telling the stranger to, "TAKE A LOT OF PHOTOS." As they were taking their photos, Jeremy got down on his knee and asked Abby to marry him. Abby was in pure bliss. Abby was SO excited to be spending the rest of her life with her best friend.”

Jeremy: " The one thing I love most about Abby is how caring she is AND she is so BEAUTIFUL."

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Abby: "Whenever Jeremy is excited and/or trying to be funny he likes to wink at people, but he doesn't know how to wink so his eye twitches uncontrollably." (If you see his eye twitch, its sure to make you laugh) Jeremy: " Abby LOVES desserts. Any time, any day you can catch Abby sniffing for a good dessert. She gets all gitty and is instantly in a good mood. If she's in a good mood, that chances are she just ate something sweet."

Besides getting married - whats the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Jeremy: "I am looking forward to seeing our friends and family. Many of my friends are flying in for our wedding, so I look forward to visiting and catching up with them all."

“We knew from the moment we talked to Isaac on the phone about possibly using them as our photographer that we wanted to hire them. We could tell on the phone how passionate he was about photography and he was very down to earth. We had to opportunity to view some of their past work and it was AMAZING! At our engagement photo session, we had the opportunity to get to know Lora and Isaac better and oh my goodness they are so kind, comforting and accommodating. Taking photos can sometime be uncomfortable, but they knew who to make us laugh and positioned us to get amazing pictures. Lora made our wedding day truly special. She is a phenomenal photographer and we cannot that her enough.”
